Basketball players obviously don’t spend all of their time on basketball, and many have hobbies that are entirely unrelated to their profession. A lot of NBA players are into video games, and a number are avid gamers.

Anthony Edwards is known for enjoying video games, and a recent interaction with Mike Conley suggests that he’s a huge fan of the Call of Duty franchise. When speaking to the media recently, Mike Conley revealed that one of the first things the young star asked him about was whether he plays Call of Duty.

Mike Conley was talking about the youth on the Timberwolves roster, and he mentioned one of the first things Anthony Edwards said to him.

“You play Call of Duty?”

Call of Duty is one of the premier shooting game franchises, and it makes sense that a number of NBA players partake in playing the game. In fact, Devin Booker even played Call of Duty prior to an important playoff game last season. Perhaps we’ll see Anthony Edwards and Mike Conley bond while playing Call of Duty in the future,

Anthony Edwards Is Already An Elite Defender

When it comes to the court, Anthony Edwards is generally viewed as an explosive scorer who can get buckets in a variety of ways. However, his defense has definitely been underrated throughout his short NBA career.

Previously, Rudy Gobert claimed that Anthony Edwards has the ability to be an All-Defensive player in the future. He claimed that Edwards is already “one of the best on-ball defenders” that he has seen.

“He’s shown me that he can be an All-Defensive player if he puts his mind to it,” Gobert said. “I’ve been on his ass a little bit about off-the-ball [defense]. He’s very competitive. He’s probably one of the best on-ball defenders I’ve seen when he takes it to heart and he’s guarding a really good player.”

Though a lot of fans tend to focus on a player’s offensive production, the game is played on both ends of the floor. Defense is extremely important, and most championship-level teams are also elite defensive teams. You simply cannot win at the highest level without defense.

Hopefully, we see Anthony Edwards continue to take pride on the defensive end in the future. He definitely has the athleticism and ability to be a menacing perimeter defender, and it’ll be great to see him keep growing on that end of the floor.
