The New York Knicks keep making moves this offseason, and after securing their biggest target in Jalen Brunson, they’re making sure to keep their core together, extending one of their best player to a big contract.

Mitchell Robinson is yet to live up to the expectations around him. Still, the big man and his team are confident they can go big things at Madison Square Garden, which explains why the Knicks decided to extend their relationship with Robinson for four more years.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that Mitchell has signed a 4-year, $60 million with the New Yorkers. Even though they didn’t land a big name this offseason, the Knicks are trying to keep their group together, and Mitchell is a big part of their future plans.

After a terrible 2021/22 NBA season, the Knicks will try to bounce back and compete in a stacked Eastern Conference that will feature many contenders. It’s unlikely to see them making a deep playoffs run, but they’re at least ensuring that the right players stay on the roster.

Jalen Brunson won’t make them NBA champions, but he could enhance their level a little bit. Still, they need to make more moves to compete for a spot in the Finals and win the championship. Free agency just started, and this might not be the only move the Knicks make now, so we have to stay tuned and see how things develop for them.
