The Golden State Warriors have established themselves as the best franchise of the last decade. While they had stiff competition at times, the Warriors are largely uncontested for this title because of their incredible winning history in this era. Naturally, they were massive villains for a part of this era.

The Warriors were fan favorites around the league until they signed Kevin Durant and became an unfairly stacked team. Despite that, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have been largely loved and revered by fans for their demeanor. The third member of the trio, Draymond Green, is what makes the Warriors unlikable according to Justin Termine.

“They’re the most likable dynasty of all time. Like honestly, from the outside, it is impossible to root against Steph and Klay. then you deal with these guys and are like ‘I know how some of the NBA guys are, and I know how Steph and Klay are’, as superstars. They are impossible to root against… They beat my Celtics last year and I didn’t even care because I love those two guys and I love Bob Myers. But Draymond makes them impossible to root for.”

No team gets success by being just nice. Every championship team has a scrappy and gritty guy that isn’t liked by all, and Draymond has been a high-profile version of that for the Warriors.

How Important Is Draymond Green To The Warriors?

In tonight’s loss to the Indiana Pacers that saw Stephen Curry leave the game injured and Draymond put in one of the worst performances of the season. He had 1 point, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 6 turnovers in a game where he looked disengaged from the start.

When the Warriors have looked good this season, Draymond has been crucial in ensuring that. His defensive presence in the front court is a massive game-changer for Golden State. Hopefully, that value is recognized when it comes to the question of ensuring Green stays a part of the team long-term.
