NBA Executive Says Giannis Antetokounmpo Would Be A ‘Perfect Fit’ With The Miami Heat

The Miami Heat have proven to be amongst the East’s staunchest competitors this season. With guys like Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic, Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, and Kendrick Nunn, they have a roster that can compete with the best of them.

But Pat Riley has never been one to remain quiet for long and this summer, you can expect him to take any avenues that might result in the improvement of the roster.

Coincidently enough, one big-name superstar could be on the market in the near future just happens to be the guy their facing in the current round of the NBA playoffs: Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Not only do the Heat have the assets and the motive to bring in Giannis, but they might also be the best fit for the young Greek forward.

This is what one NBA exec told Sam Amick of The Athletic on the possibility of a Heat/Giannis pairing:

I asked the aforementioned front office executive which team Antetokounmpo might wind up with if Miami goes on to finish this job and create such havoc for the Bucks.

“The Heat,” the NBA executive said.

Miami has pretty much everything a rising star could want in an organization. They’re in a relatively big market, are being run by a respectable front-office staff, and have a lot of pieces to work with (salary cap, players, and picks). And as a squad who is notorious for being mentally tough, Giannis’ personality and mindset should fit right in.

Of course, it remains to be seen how the Bucks will finish this season. A few more series wins, and a trip to the Finals, the tune could change for Giannis; future and all this talk about him going to Miami could dissipate.

It’ll be an interesting few weeks/months ahead, to say the least.
