Kendrick Perkins isn’t strange to controversy. The 2008 NBA champion has become a living meme for his really hot takes on basketball. The big man isn’t afraid of speaking his mind, which has brought more problems than benefits for him.
Last season, he claimed Khris Middleton was the Batman of the Milwaukee Bucks only to change his mind and give that title to Giannis Antetokounmpo a couple of weeks later. Perk has always made these bold claims, and even though fans call him out for that, he doesn’t stop.
He recently picked his top 5 power forwards in the NBA ahead of the 2021/22 season, again raising a lot of eyebrows for his selections. Perkins selected Giannis Antetokounmpo and Anthony Davis as the 1st and 2nd PFs in the association. Nothing wrong with this, but things took a different route after that.
He closed out the top five with Karl-Anthony Towns, Bam Adebayo, and Domantas Sabonis. These last three spots didn’t sit well with fans. Besides the fact that KAT and Adebayo are centers, fans considered he left other big names out.

Perk just admit you forgot Zion before you try and get creative and change his position 😂

KAT a power forward now? Damn here I was thinking he was a center all this time. Thanks Perk 😭

Why the fuck is Bam at PF now
— Narrow (@NarrowGaming) September 24, 2021
Two of the 5 you listed are centers. You need to go back and do this again or people are going to question your NBA knowledge.

over Randle is also nuts

Bam isnt a power forward
— Chris White (@BryanIsTheKing) September 24, 2021
Bam has played 74% of his career minutes at center and KAT has played 100% of his career minutes at center, they’re not power forwards lmao

KAT and only KAT. This is a weird list.

Tobias Harris needs to be in there. Most consistent floor spacing power forward out there besides KD.

Zion is so obviously the third best PF behind Giannis and AD how is he not on here😭😭😭

Bam has played a good amount of both tbh. He started at pf when Meyers Leonard was a thing. Mostly center though

who the hell said kat and bam are pfs and sabonis might not be top 10
— txbii 🪼 (@TorontoDame) September 24, 2021
KAT isn’t a pf😭 neither is Bam

Zion Williamson, Tobias Harris and Pascal Siakam were mentioned by fans who couldn’t believe he picked two centers for this list while leaving out other stars that have done great in recent years.
These lists, tops and rankings always bring controversy. When Kendrick Perkins does them, things get a lot worse. NBA fans are used to that, but they’re always ready to blast the former player-turned-analyst for his hot takes.
