The Ja Morant gun controversy drew a lot of reactions from many people in the NBA, and even companies who have Ja as their image reacted to this.
Nike, who recently released Ja’s first signature shoes, issued a statement on the ongoing situation.
“We appreciate Ja’s accountability and that he is taking the time to get the help he needs. We support his prioritization of his well-being.”
The giant company made up its mind about this situation, showing its support to Ja. Good as this looks, a lot of fans didn’t like this approach. Why? Because they didn’t give the same treatment to Kyrie Irving in the past.

Kyrie Irving was suspended from playing NBA games and asked to complete a whole list of side quest because he posted a link. Then Nike wanted to dropped him for a guy who is posting outside with guns?
Ja Morant has been in MULTIPLE incidents involving guns and threatening…

Nike even cut its ties with Kyrie after he shared an anti-semite movie on social media, and everybody went after him. The then Brooklyn Nets player was the subject of ruthless slander, and Nike decided to end their relationship after many years of giving incredible goods to the fans.
The Reason Why Nike And Powerade Are Supporting Ja Morant To Clean His Public Image
Ja has put everybody in a complex situation with his antics on social media, but he’s still getting a lot of support around the league. Sam Amick of The Athletic writes that Nike and Powerade have high expectations from the point guard, and they’re willing to wait and see if he can change this behavior.
“The stakes are high here for the league, with the LeBron Jameses, Kevin Durants and Steph Currys of their world nearing their exits and Morant on his way to becoming one of the next all-time greats. The folks at Nike and Powerade, where he has lucrative endorsement deals, have vested interests in the rehabilitation of his image as well.”
Ja needs to get it together if he wants to keep bullying rivals in the paint, but he must do a big job first, realize that what he’s doing no longer serves him, and when that happens, everything will change for him. As of right now, he’s suspended for at least two games by the Grizzlies while the league is investigating his Instagram Live incident.
