In every few years, a new crop of superstars takes over the NBA and become the faces of the league. This is something that is bound to happen no matter how many years pass.

Over the last decade or so, the likes of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry have been the faces of the NBA. They have accomplished everything that an NBA player can imagine in the league. Despite being in their 30s, they are still going strong and refuse to give up the throne.

However, there are a few players from the new generation, such as Giannis Antetokoumo, Jayson Tatum, and Luka Doncic, who will one day take over the league.

NBA Fans Debate About Old Generation Superteam vs. New Generation Superteam

Seeing NBA fans debate about things related to the league is nothing new. Often times they debate about things like which is the better nickname given to two NBA legends. On the other hand, fans also get into imaginary debates, such as who will win between a Michael Jordan superteam and a LeBron James superteam.

Keeping that in mind, the popular Twitter account Hoop Central recently asked its fans about an imaginary matchup between the old generation superteam and the new generation superteam.

Which lineup are you taking?

The first superteam features LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Kawhi Leonard, and Anthony Davis. On the other hand, the second superteam had Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, Ja Morant, Luka Doncic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Here’s how fans reacted to the matchup:

AD is one year older than Embiid.

Depends if we’re talking rn or prime. If rn, the bot side easily. Top side is greatness, but too old and injured

But if talking prime , You surround Bron with KD Steph and Kawhi and give him an elite big, sheesh

prime
Steph> Ja
Kawhi>= Luka
KD>Tatum
Bron>Greek
AD=Joel

Aint no way anyone stopping Bron, KD, & Steph.

This better be in their primes because Kawhi is nowhere near this list right now. The discourse on Kawhi is weird to me, dude has played 64 games in 2.5 seasons and barely no one talks about it. In his prime he was an awesome player, one of my favorite non-Suns to watch.

A few fans wanted to know if the matchup takes place when the players are in their primes or right now. Either way, most fans believed that the lineup featuring LeBron, Curry, and Durant would win easily. After all, they are unarguably three of the best players of the last 10-12 years and are still adding more accolades to their already phenomenal resumes.
