Fans were also quick to point out that both starting fives had Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on their teams, playing a similar role for their teams as a regular 3-&-D star. KCP was credited as being a key piece for both championship teams, and it would be interesting to see which stint fans thought was more impressive.

2020 Lakers And 2023 Nuggets Were Dominant During Their Championship Runs

Regardless of which teams NBA fans picked between the 2020 Lakers and the 2023 Nuggets, there is no denying just how dominant both teams were. And they actually had a lot in common.

Led by superstar duos, with the Lakers having LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and the Nuggets being led by Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. On top of that, they had key role players such as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (for both teams), Rajon Rondo, Aaron Gordon, and Bruce Brown.

The Lakers and the Nuggets actually played in the playoffs this year, with the Nuggets sweeping LeBron and AD’s team.

This has caused a little bit of friction between both squads, with Nuggets HC Michael Malone taking shots at LeBron and the Lakers, and LeBron even responding in kind. Next season’s games between the two teams will be a must-see affair, as the Lakers may now have new rivals.
