It’s unthinkable to think that a team could be the 4th seed, trade for an All-Star starter, and then end up missing the play-in. Yet that’s what is happening in Dallas. The main problem is with the roster, they lack a solid big man. The Dallas Mavericks have regularly been dominated on the boards by their opponents. They also lack defense, as shown by the fact that they gave up nearly 130 points to the Miami Heat.
Luka Doncic has been a shell of himself, while Kyrie Irving has admitted that they are still trying to figure out how it all fits together. What’s more, he may not even stay in free agency. Jason Kidd’s failings have been obvious, his lack of a proper system and refusal to play certain players has hurt the team.
