The Los Angeles Lakers have enjoyed much better results since they made huge trade deadline moves to restructure their roster. One of the biggest hits so far has been the returning D’Angelo Russell, who has already had an impact.

Kyrie Irving is the name that the Lakers have been linked to the most in the past year, though. However, the latest reports suggest the team might want to retain D’Angelo Russell instead of pursuing Kyrie. And fans have quite a bit to say about it.

“The Lakers are expected to retain D’Angelo Russell instead of pursuing Kyrie Irving this summer,” as per Jovan Buha.

Kyrie Irving will be hoping to get another huge contract in free agency, that is reportedly why he ended up moving away from the Brooklyn Nets. But that’s why this fan wouldn’t want him: “Good move to be honest. Use the money to add more pieces.”

Lots of people don’t agree with the idea though, with this fan saying, “Bad move! Bottom line is there’s levels to this Who you bring to the battle says a lot about who you trying to be. If phoenix, get someone to replace @CP3 next year, no one will be able to deal with those three stars AGAIN, LEVELS.”

This fan seems to think that they should spend the money anyway though, just on DLo: “Lakers should do the right thing and offer the max to D’Angelo Russell.”

The summary of this whole situation was provided by this fan though, who wrote, “I understand the move. DLO will be cheaper and less of a headache to deal with on and off the court. With that being said I’m still taking Kyrie over DLO. lolll let’s not be foolish!”

Kyrie Irving Showed The Lakers What They Are Missing

There is no denying that Kyrie Irving is in a league of his own as a player though. He showed the Los Angeles Lakers that on Friday night, putting up a whopping 38 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists to help the Dallas Mavericks clinch a crucial win.

True superstars are a rare breed, and Kyrie Irving most certainly falls into that category. He has not said anything to suggest where his future lies, but if the Lakers can get Irving to sign, then they should probably do that.
