If there is one thing most basketball fans can relate to, it’s saying Kobe Bryant’s name when shooting a shot. This can be on the court, or even when trying to toss a paper into the bin, but yelling ‘Kobe’ is a tradition among fans of the NBA.

Kobe Bryant was the ultimate shotmaker for a whole generation of young NBA fans, but even older generations caught on to the trend. A video of legendary WWE superstar, The Undertaker doing the ‘Kobe’ was recently spotted on social media.

The clip seems to be from an interview with him, and he did it nonchalantly enough to make it evident that this is something he did and does regularly. Kobe Bryant’s legacy contains multitudes, his impact on the game of basketball and outside it was massive. But there is nothing more indicative of how influential he was than the simple usage of his name while trying to make a bucket.

Kobe Bryant is a complicated name to place in the all-time rankings that fans love to debate, but perhaps no other legend is as synonymous with shooting a shot as he was. And even though Kobe was cruelly taken from basketball fans way too soon, he will never be forgotten.

Tom Brady Once Described How Kobe Bryant Lives On Despite His Untimely Passing

Even people that weren’t huge fans of the NBA know who and what Kobe Bryant was. His Mamba Mentality is something athletes in every sport can and do use, including the NBA stars that have come after him. And the GOAT of American football, Tom Brady, once described Bryant’s impact on the world.

He was someone who was all about exceptionalism, he wanted everybody to succeed and achieve,” Brady said. “He lives on because when you see pictures of him, you see clips of him, they inspire you to be the best you could be.

“We talked about his mentality, how he approached the game, how he approached practice; how he approached life. ‘You’re going to get my heart, my soul, my physical, mental energy, you know you’re gonna get everything.’ People are gonna look at him as a great hero, someone who did things the right way and someone we can all look up to.”

Kobe Bryant will never be forgotten, be it by the basketball community or someone from the WWE or NFL. He transcended the sport he played while also becoming the face of it for a generation. For any of us, every time we shoot a shot into a basket, be it real or imaginary, saying ‘Kobe’ is a non-negotiable aspect of it.
