Patrick Beverley is far from a fan favorite in the NBA. The Minnesota Timberwolves guard has a tendency to get on the nerves of NBA players, fans, and even officials with relative ease. Beverley is a very vocal player and uses his ability to talk trash and heckle to give his team the advantage on the court.

And it comes as no surprise that this behavior from Beverley has made him one of the most hated players in the NBA. He consistently talks trash, plays dirty, and tries to use every scrappy tactic to get the upper hand for himself and his team.

Pat Bev has said in the past he enjoys touching players and making them uncomfortable, making it his primary approach to defense. Beverley spent time in Houston and LA, with the latter stint making him one of the most despised players in the league.

And every time he and his team suffered a setback or a failure, it would give fans the ammunition to go at him and make fun of him. That is exactly what happened when he got traded from the Clippers, with fans roasting him for his comments about Steph Curry, and how the next 5 years were his.

But after his antics during the Timberwolves game against the New Orleans Pelicans, fans have seemingly had enough of his behavior. During the game, Jonas Valanciunas went to the free-throw line. Beverley stood right at the line, and when Valanciunas tried to push him away, began to talk smack and try to get a physical altercation going.

Referees immediately got involved and separated the two. Valanciunas reacted calmly and informed the officials of what Beverley was trying to do.

Fans online slammed Pat Bev for his actions, noting that this isn’t the first time he has done something like this, and his antics are becoming played out now, especially given how unnecessary they are.

Despite the desires of fans, Beverley will continue these antics because that is exactly what he brings to the table better than anyone else. While fans and players may not like it, Beverley tries to get the opposition players riled up because they could lose their temper and get ejected from the game.

Antics aside, Beverley is one of the better perimeter defenders in the NBA and a huge asset to the Minnesota Timberwolves who desperately need better on-ball defenders. Pat Bev could be essential to the Timberwolves as the season unfolds.
