Ben Simmons is well-known as being a point guard that is one of the best defensive players in the league. He was in the DPOY running last season when healthy. Simmons is also adept at creating shots for his teammates in transition and slashing to the rim to score. While he has not played this season, he had a solid 2020-21 regular season, averaging 14.3 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 6.9 APG while shooting 55.7% from the field.

While he has a lot of different ways in which he contributes on the court, there is no doubt that Ben Simmons could improve his scoring game. Many people have criticized his lack of jump shooting ability in the past, as well as his lack of aggression when trying to score near the rim at times.

Recently, there was a video that circulated on Twitter, featuring Ben Simmons putting up shots after practice. The video featured Simmons missing some close-range jump shots. A lot of fans responded to the video, with many of them roasting Simmons for his shooting.

There is no doubt that Ben Simmons still has a lot to improve on when it comes to scoring, but it is likely that he won’t need to be a No. 2 scoring option on the Brooklyn Nets. The Brooklyn Nets already have Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on the roster, both of whom are transcendent scorers themselves. In Brooklyn, Ben Simmons will be able to play to his strengths, which are defense and facilitating. The Nets will need Ben Simmons to get far in the playoffs, and perhaps we’ll see him suit up soon.

The Brooklyn Nets are currently the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference, which means they could end up participating in the play-in tournament. With that being said, when they’re healthy, they’re widely considered a contending team. Hopefully, we see them at full strength soon, and the Brooklyn Nets have a solid chance of competing against any team in the East if they are able to get their three stars together.
