The Atlanta Hawks came into Game 3 of their series against the Miami Heat 2-0 down. As such Game 3 was a must-win game for them. They ended up beating the Miami Heat in a nailbiter, 111-110, with Trae Young scoring the game-winning floater for the team.
A lot of NBA fans reacted to the Atlanta Hawks’ upset of the Miami Heat, with many people praising Trae Young’s performance. Though Trae Young was struggling for most of the game, he picked things up in the 4th quarter and ended with 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists.

There’s no doubt that this win gives the Hawks a better chance of winning the series, as they will be all even with the Miami Heat if they manage to win their next game at home.
A major talking point during this series has been the Miami Heat’s stellar defense on Trae Young. Trae Young has even admitted that this has been a “challenging series” for him, because of the “chess match” he is playing with Erik Spoelstra.
“Obviously, we’re down 0-2 in this series, but this has probably been my most fun and challenging series that I’ve been a part of so far because of just that: playing that chess match game with Coach Spo, just knowing how good of a coach he is. I’m trying to think ahead of him and he’s doing the same with me. It’s a fun challenge. It’s something that I’ve got to learn and grow and it’s another step for me in my progression.”
The 4th quarter of this game showed that Trae Young has managed to figure some things out though, and perhaps this will continue into Game 4 of the series. The Hawks will definitely need Trae Young at his best to beat the Miami Heat.
Hopefully, the Atlanta Hawks are able to continue to hang on in the series. They have shown that they can compete with the Miami Heat, and with Trae Young at the helm, they will always have a chance to win.
