The 2022-23 NBA season was one full of incredible highs and lows for the Los Angeles Lakers and it finally came to an end on Monday night.

They got swept after losing Game 4 113-111 to the Denver Nuggets and after the game, LeBron James hinted he could retire when discussing his future.

“I got a lot to think about, to be honest,” James said. “Just for me personally going forward with the game of basketball, got a lot to think about.”

(starts at 13:01 mark):

NBA fans were in shock when they heard about James’ comments.

One believes this might indeed be the end for LeBron.

A fan says basketball won’t ever be the same if James walks away.

A fan believes LeBron showed he still had gas left in the tank in Game 4 so he isn’t going anywhere.

A fan states LeBron isn’t going to retire but expects him to say things along these lines after every season moving forward.

Another fan isn’t buying the retirement talk either, as Bronny James is now just a year away from entering the league.

no way he retires a year away from playing with bronny

The Bronny James point is certainly the biggest indicator that he isn’t retiring just yet. While LeBron has kept playing for so long because he wants to win more championships, another major motivation for him was playing with his son. Earlier this month, he doubled down on his plans to play with Bronny and it is hard to see him retiring now when his son will most likely enter the league in 2024. He is probably just frustrated at the moment after getting swept and you can’t blame him for that.

LeBron James Gave His All In Game 4

This 2023 postseason certainly didn’t see LeBron at his very best. Perhaps his foot injury is still bothering him, but he gave it his all in Game 4, playing all but four seconds of the contest. James had 31 points in the first half as he looked to single-handedly drag the Lakers to victory, but he understandably slowed down a bit in the second as those minutes took a toll on his body.

He still finished with 40 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, and 2 steals on a night when the likes of Anthony Davis just didn’t show up. One wonders how differently the game might have panned out if LeBron had some more help.
