NBA Fans Shocked To Learn That Russell Westbrook Is Third In Points, Ninth In Rebounds, And First In Assists Since Winning MVP In 2017: “Don’t Look Washed To Me”

Many fans reacted to the insane statistic of Russell Westbrook being the only player who is top 10 in steals, rebounds, assists, and points ever since winning the 2017 MVP trophy.

Russell Westbrook was perhaps one of the most criticized players in the league last season. Joining a star-studded Los Angeles Lakers lineup, Brodie was expected to be the third superstar of the Purple and Gold. Given that the team had the star duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the addition of Westbrook made the Lakers one of the biggest super teams in the league.

But with the Lakers missing the playoffs, the experiment certainly failed. Not finding a cohesive system for the big three and hit by multiple injuries, the Lakers were in shambles. Brodie, meanwhile, was the scapegoat in multiple situations. With fans furious of Westbrook performing not up to expectations, comments about the former MVP being washed became rampant.

NBA Fans React To Insane Russell Westbrook Stat Since 2017

After a disappointing first season with the Lakers, fans have been rampant to knock off Westbrook and have claimed that the former MVP has not performed up to his standards for a while now. But statistics paint a very different picture.

In a recent post, it was revealed that Westbrook is a top 10 player in scoring, assists, rebounds, and steals ranking 3rd, 1st, 9th, and 2nd respectively.

While players like LeBron James are often known to be incredibly versatile, this statistic proves how consistent of a performer Westbrook has been over the years. To top it off, Brodie is also the only player in the last five years to finish in the top 10 in all four categories.

Fans were definitely shocked by this insane Russ stat.

Westbrook will hope to have a major bounce back in the upcoming season. While he did end up playing the most games from the big three, he looked out of sorts in multiple parts of the season.

But with a new coach at the helm and a long offseason to work on his game, the former MVP will certainly have a point to prove. Can Westbrook really be the third superstar for the Lakers in the upcoming season?
