The Golden State Warriors are at the top of the NBA food chain. After five years of pure dominance, they spent two seasons in the gutter before returning with a vengeance to re-take their crown.
They are once again champions of the world and have to be feeling pretty good about their chances for next season.
But even amid all the success they have enjoyed recently, the Warriors are not immune to trolling by the fans.
After unveiling their 2022-23 Statement Edition uniforms on Tuesday, people swarmed the comments to share their thoughts, much of which were either poking fun at the look or flat-out denouncing it.
Congrats on being the Indiana Pacers

More and more NBA teams are embracing a more modern and minimalistic look for their unis, courts, and logos. Each year, it seems like teams are giving up their uniqueness for the sake of sporting a sleek, “clean” look.
The problem is, fans seem to prefer it the other way. Back in the 90s and 2000s, jersey designs were much more complex and truly captured the overall look and feel of the city.
The Detroit Pistons are one of the few teams who actually listened to the fans and brought back their old-school design. Predictably, fans were pretty stoked when they re-introduced the iconic teal unis for the 2022-23 season.
“To Pistons fans everywhere – we heard you, and this is for you,” said Mike Zavodsky, Chief Business Officer for the Detroit Pistons. “The teal jerseys represent a ‘colorful’ time in Pistons basketball and NBA history. We are thrilled to re-introduce the teal to a new generation of basketball fans, and can’t wait to see this version of Detroit Basketball suit up in them.”
Of course, fans will get over these simplified Dubs jerseys in time. At the end of the day, the product a team puts forth on the court matters much more than the kind of look they go for with their uniforms.
Still, teams need to start realizing that most fans want a return to some of the old traditions than a deeper transition to modern-day norms. The NBA is at its best when each team sports its own unique style and feel.
