Michael Jordan Once Explained What Makes Him The Best Player In The World

There is no question that Michael Jordan was the undisputed best player in the world during his playing days. Once, we saw him explain what makes him the best player in the world, with him saying that he demands “more” from himself “than anybody else” expects.

“Michael Jordan. Remember I interviewed him years ago? And I said, ‘What makes you the best in the world? Is it skill? Is it talent? Is it abilities? Is it background? Is it training?’ And he was so awesome. He said, ‘Tony I can tell you the truth and it won’t sound like false modesty.’ He said, ‘I didn’t even make the high school basketball team, sophomore year. I was cut.’ He said, ‘What it is is everyday I demand more from myself than anybody else could possibly expect. I don’t compete with other people. I compete with what I’m capable of.'”

Michael Jordan knew what it took to win at the highest level, and he was universally feared by rival players the moment he stepped on the court. He prevented some amazing players like Charles Barkley from ever winning a championship, and it is easy to see why so many people respect him.

It is hard to see any player potentially surpass Michael Jordan’s undefeated record in the Finals and his dominance. Jordan was a one-of-one talent, and there’s no question that he had the greatest peak in NBA history.
