When Kevin Durant decided to join forces with Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors in 2016, it was labeled as one of the weakest moves by any NBA superstar. So after just three seasons, KD decided to leave the Dubs in hopes of winning a title with his own team.

Well, KD’s quest to win a ring without the Warriors failed miserably, and he has now requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. Although KD announced his discussion a couple of weeks back, there is still no word about if or when the Slim Reaper will get traded.

What fans have heard is the rumors of him joining many elite teams. Surprisingly, the Warriors are rumored to make an attempt to trade for KD as well. Previously, it was considered nothing but a rumor, but now things have changed.

According to an NBA insider, Steph Curry has contacted KD several times in hopes of a reunion. Additionally, the insider believes that Curry wants that reunion to have a shot at winning the fifth NBA Championship of his career and finally surpass LeBron James’ number of rings.

KD UPDATE: Ric Bucher is reporting that Steph Curry has reached out to KD several times about a reunion: “A league source says Curry has reached out several times to Durant, eager to improve his chances of winning a fifth championship and surpassing LeBron James.” #dubnation

Here’s what Curry said about possible reunion KD in Tahoe: "The rumor mill and all that stuff is part of the nature of the NBA and league," Curry told NBC Sports Bay Area. "You take it for what it is. You know how quickly things can change, but I like where we're at."

If KD and Steph were to reunite, it would once again cause a lot of drama in the league. But as it turns out, this rumor hasn’t appeared out of thin air. NBA insider Brian Windhorst revealed something similar earlier.

ANOTHER KD REPORT: ESPN's Brian Windhorst said today that legitimate sources tell him the Warriors are discussing a KD reunion. He also says Curry has not shut down the idea, points out Joe Lacob did not shut it down when asked on The Athletic podcast last week. #dubnation

During an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, Windhorst revealed that Steph had been asked about reacquiring KD.

Considering the fact that the Warriors just won a ring without Kevin Durant this season. It could have a very negative impact on the legacies of Curry and co. if they once again reunite with Durant. But at the end of the day, all that matters is that the Dubs win a ring.

If they have done this move previously, we cannot completely rule out the possibility of it happening once again. The Warriors have the assets to acquire Kevin Durant as well.
