When it comes to the sport of basketball, the James family is like royalty. Thanks to 20 years of greatness (and counting) from LeBron, his name and legacy have transcended the league.

This fame and notoriety have spilled over into the life of LeBron’s children, and his oldest son, Bronny, is already enjoying some of the perks that come with it.

A report by USA Today revealed that Bronny has already received offers from at least nine prestigious college basketball powerhouses.

James, a 6’3 190-pound senior combo guard, has yet to make a decision on his basketball future. While his father was the presumptive No. 1 pick from the time he was a junior, entering the NBA straight out of high school, Bronny will choose between a slew of NCAA scholarship offers or perhaps the G League for his next step.

USC is a major factor in the recruiting of Bronny James in his senior season. The Sierra Canyon (Calabasas, Calif.) native has received official offers from Memphis, Ohio State, USC, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina and Oregon.

The 18-year-old, won’t “likely won’t sign until the spring,” Forbes Sports’ Adam Zagoria reported.

The ‘James’ name comes with more than great expectations. Any college that manages to secure a commitment from Bronny will immediately enjoy an influx of national media attention. It also won’t hurt ticket sales, either.

How Good Is Bronny James?

As a player, Bronny is good enough to make the NBA on his own merits, but one has to wonder if his connection to LeBron has overhyped the kid’s potential.

At the very least, Bronny is guaranteed to get a shot in the NBA. But nobody can agree on what he’ll be able to do once he’s in.

“He’s solid as hell,” said Thaddeus Young. “Obviously, probably not the elite of the elite. But he’s athletic, he’s strong, he plays defense, he can shoot the ball well, he can run the point guard position, he can play off ball. I love his game.”

At the time of writing, Bronny is classified as a 4-star prospect, meaning he could become a high first-round pick if he impresses in college.

For now, however, James’ only focus is on finishing out this year strong and hearing up for the transition to the college basketball realm.
