Over the years, Damian Lillard has established himself as one of the best point guards in the NBA. The Portland Trail Blazers superstar is not only an incredible shooter but also has a knack for hitting big shots when his team needs him the most.

Knowing the incredible talent that Lillard possesses, it was quite astonishing to see him struggle at the beginning of the 2021-22 NBA season. He was playing like a shell of himself and it directly impacted how the Trail Blazers performed in the league.

Later, it was revealed that the 6x All-Star was battling through an injury. The injury held him back and had a huge impact on his production for the team. Well, Dame finally decided to get surgery to treat the injury last month, and he has been sidelined indefinitely.

Knowing his incredible popularity among NBA fans, everyone is hoping for him to return at his 100%. While it would be great to see him return to the hardwood, at the same time, it begs the question of whether Lillard returns at his full strength or not.

Dame cleared that doubt of fans himself in an interview with Draymond Green. Lillard revealed:

“I didn’t realize how hurt I was. … I still feel like my absolute best seasons are coming in the next few years. I really feel like that in my heart and in my body.”

It’s great news for Lillard and the Trail Blazers fans that their superstar is confident about his return to the court. Considering Dame is still 31-years-old, he still has a lot left in his tank.

Once he returns from the rehab, fans will most likely see a new version of the NBA superstar. But the question remains, will it be enough to bring an NBA Championship to the franchise?
