Eric Gordon has gone after his current team after not seeing any improvements this season. The sharpshooter has been linked with moves away from Houston for a while now, and it seems like this might be the year when he finally leaves the Rockets.
The Houston Rockets went from being the only challengers the Golden State Warriors had in the Western Conference a couple of years ago to one of the worst teams in the NBA right now. After the James Harden trade to the Brooklyn Nets, they took a different route, sending John Wall home and focusing on developing their young players.
Now, they seem to have something good in hand, with Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., and Kevin Porter Jr. ready to create something great in Houston. This situation is the right one for them, as they are trying to build something there, but not everybody is happy with these events.
Eric Gordon Has Big Comments About Houston Rockets As Trade Rumors Increase
With reports suggesting that this could be the year where the Rockets finally part ways with the guard, Gordon has made a big statement about his team, seemingly calling them out for not showing any improvement this campaign. Gordon, who was recently linked with the Los Angeles Lakers, doesn’t think that his younger teammates have made much to improve their games.
“There’s no improvement,” Gordon said, via RealGM.
“Same old thing all year. We have a small margin for error,” the Rockets vet continued. “It’s a lot of things. It’s mindset. You got to play for one another. Do what’s right by your teammates. If you do that, it’d be more fun. You give yourself a better chance to win.”
As stated before, Houston isn’t the same team they were in the 2010s, and the situation is very different for them right now. They have interesting and talented young guys that can grow to become real stars in the league, but right now, they still have a long way to go.
Recent reports also place James Harden back in Houston if things don’t go well in Philly this season, but it’s way too early to say if that will happen or not. The only thing we know is that Gordon wants to see more from teammates, or perhaps this is his way to push a trade away from H-Town.
