The Los Angeles Lakers fans still haven’t forgiven Dennis Schroder for his costly airball error in their ugly 112-98 loss to the Miami Heat.

Miami managed to lead for three-quarters of the game and capitalized on the lead, and the point guard’s shot would have perhaps seen them hit the three-figure mark and cut the lead to four points in the final stretch, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Schroder hasn’t really had an impactful run with the Lakers, barring the odd game. He’s averaging 10.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. He had 15 points against the Heat coupled with 2 rebounds and as many assists.

The fans were also comparing his miss to former Laker Robert Sacre’s infamous airball that still does the rounds as meme material on social media.

NBA Fans Call Dennis Schroder And Robert Sacre As The Worst Shooters In League History

Miffed Lakers fans took shots at Schroder and Sacre, calling the duo the worst shooters in league history. The former had the most brunt to pay for, especially after clattering a three-pointer against the Charlotte Hornets earlier this month.

Prior to the two misses, he made headlines for wasting 24 seconds on the clock. It might not be a rarity, but he did show he was a smart cookie and that eventually helped the Lakers. Moving on to the reactions:

I know he ain’t acting like that was a pass 😭😭😭😭😭😭 https://t.co/miJ3m3QV8H

The Lakers haven’t had the greatest of seasons. They started off on an 0-5 run before Anthony Davis, and LeBron James helped them improve their record to double digits. However, their big man’s stress fracture on his right foot now further compounds LA’s shooting woes.

On the trade front, Schroder’s name hasn’t been necessarily doing the rounds as he does spearhead the playmaking duties as a starter, but the team will need more from him by supporting James if they intend to make the postseason.

The Lakers are 14-21 following their loss to Miami and take on the Atlanta Hawks next. They follow it up with skirmishes against the Hornets and the Heat again.
