The Phoenix Suns are coming off one of the best seasons in franchise history.
They were able to put years of struggles behind and make the playoffs again, with Monty Williams and Chris Paul turning around the team's losing culture.
So many people are excited for what's to come for the Suns. And, even though the Western Conference is going to be tougher next year some still believe that they're legit championship contenders.
That's why JaVale McGee is so excited for this new tenure in his career, as he knows that everything is possible with Paul on the court and that all that he always makes the most of his big men:
"Every big man that has ever played with Chris Paul has done well. I just feel like Chris Paul is definitely the head of the snake and he's definitely going to lead us to the finals again," McGee told Shannon Sharpe in Club Shay Shay.
Paul averaged 16.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game last season and will now have a strong backup big man in McGee, who posted averages of 7.3 points and 5.2 boards with the Nuggets.
McGee will have a strong role off the bench for the Suns, backing up young star Deandre Ayton.
And, as it happened with DeAndre Jordan in the Los Angeles Clippers or Clint Capela in the Houston Rockets, we can expect McGee to make the headlines with plenty of emphatic poster dunks after finishing a lob from the Point God.
Clearly, making it back to the NBA Finals will be an uphill battle for the Suns. But they proved that they were for real last season, so you better don't sleep on them.
