Jayson Tatum has managed to lead the Boston Celtics to the NBA Finals this year, and there’s no doubt that this is an amazing accomplishment for him. He has had a very good playoff run thus far, and Tatum notably won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP award this season.

While there is a lot to like about Jayson Tatum’s playoff run, one thing that he could do to improve and help his team win is cut down on turnovers. In fact, he is coming close to setting a negative record in regards to turnovers. Twitter page Legion Hoops has recently revealed that Jayson Tatum could potentially surpass LeBron James in setting a record for having the most turnovers in a single playoff run.

Jayson Tatum has 91 total turnovers throughout these playoffs. If he commits 4 more, he’ll pass LeBron for the most turnovers in a single playoff run.

There’s no doubt that a high-usage player like Jayson Tatum will end up having some turnovers. That fact is inevitable. However, reducing the number of turnovers Jayson Tatum has in a game will certainly help his team win, as that means fewer possessions and transition opportunities for the Golden State Warriors.

The Boston Celtics are currently tied 2-2 in their Finals series against the Golden State Warriors, and there’s no doubt that they’ll need Jayson Tatum to step up for them to win this series. Tatum has notably been inefficient during the Finals, but he has upped his playmaking and elevated others around him even on poor shooting nights.

As of right now, the Finals series could go either way. Both the Celtics and the Warriors are fantastic defensive teams, and the separator between them will be on the offensive end of the floor. Hopefully, Jayson Tatum rises up to the challenge, and perhaps we’ll see him win the Celtics their first championship since the 2008 season.
