Kevin Durant is leading the Nets to new heights. It is him who came to join Kyrie Irving, him who helped the team recruit James Harden, and also him who gave the team a fighting chance in the playoffs amid a nasty struggle with injuries.
By the time it’s all said and done, Durant will be a legend for the Nets, and will more than likely have his jersey retired by the team after he decides to call it quits.
But before there was Kevin Durant, there was a different no. 7 running the show: sharpshooting guard, Joe Johnson, who played with the franchise from 2012-2016.
During that stretch, he was a solid player and reliable contributor, with averages of 14.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game on 37% shooting from beyond the arc.
And while Joe is not even close to the level of Durant, he did make a rather funny suggestion to the superstar on Instagram.
“When that #7 go up in the rafters tell them to put Big ISO in the tag or summin naw fr tho….”
Joe Johnson formerly #7 of the Brooklyn Nets, has a message for Kevin Durant.

The Nets weren’t close to winning a title during Johnson’s tenure there, but it was a great period for the team that came with a lot of excitement from the fans.
While Joe was out of his prime at that point, he played his role as an essential scorer and closer to Brooklyn until his departure, just like he did with so many other teams.
To this day, fans still call him by the nickname “ISO Joe.”
Regarding his request to be included in the rafters, well, that’s not happening and it seems he’s aware of that fact.
But Durant has a pretty good chance to get that honor, especially if he wins a title with this team.
