Kevin Durant Aggressively Called Out A Reporter For Twisting His Words About Another Potential Trade Request: “This Sh*t Here Is Why I Don’t Like Talkin To Lames Like You.”

Kevin Durant has historically not enjoyed the best relationship with basketball media. There weren’t many issues when he was still with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but since his move to the Golden State Warriors, a lot of things have come up. Durant has a voice of his own that he uses often though, taking to Twitter to voice his displeasure with analysts or journalists, something he has done often in recent times.

This summer was a particularly bad one for Kevin Durant, with all the drama that surrounded his trade request to the Brooklyn Nets. It looked for a while like KD would be gone, but he and the Nets decided to give it another go. KD told his side of the story on media day, along with answering a whole host of other questions.

And Nets reporter Matt Brooks was among the people that were reporting from the press conference as Durant addressed the media’s questions. At one point, he tweeted a quote from KD suggesting it was about another trade request in the future, but this has now resulted in public backlash from the superstar himself.

Kevin Durant on whether he'll put in another trade request if the Nets struggle…

"I don't feel like I've gotta prove anything to Net fans after 3 years. I'm committed to moving forward with this team. If you've got doubts, that's on you."

Kevin Durant Lambasted Matt Brooks For Seemingly Misrepresenting His Words

It’s a high-pressure job that a lot of reporters have, and Brooks seems to have gotten worse. After seeing the aforementioned tweet, Durant was quick to clap back, saying that the reporter had twisted his words. He aggressively called him out, something which has understandably gone quite viral.

This shit here is why I don’t like talkin to lames like you. This isn’t the question he asked but you love engagement on twitter so u will twist shit up. https://t.co/nXOnu2jd9v

Durant is a fiery character, especially when he feels like he has been wronged, as he does in this situation. KD is motivated to keep things positive with the Nets this season as they try to put the pieces back together and challenge for a title, so this making him angry makes sense. There is a fair bit of bad blood between some Nets fans and Durant and quotes like this don’t help. The best way for KD to win the fans back over, though, is simply to lead them to success on the court this season.
