Kevin Durant and Charles Barkley have been going back and forth over the last 24 hours after the Brooklyn Nets were swept in the first round of the NBA playoffs by the Boston Celtics. Barkley remarked that Durant has never been a leader, or a bus driver, and has always been a passenger, referencing the success he had when he was in Golden State playing alongside Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

Kevin Durant responded by posting pictures from Charles Barkley’s time in the NBA, where he had the opportunity to team up with several great players in Philadelphia and Houston.

Barkley responded last night that Durant should accept the criticism he made because that is part of life when you are a player of his caliber. But KD wasn’t having it, as he went back at Barkley during the show, and Barkley responded (3:37 onwards).

“He ain’t got nothing to do?… Ain’t he got that play-in championship parade to go to?”

Kevin Durant took to Twitter to respond to Barkley’s words on the show, tagging Rob Perez and saying that Barkley should fire all the producers. This was a reference to the fact that much of what Inside The NBA puts out in terms of content is dictated by the producers of the show, including this hilarious skit from The Office in which the faces of the Nets were photoshopped on to the bodies of the actors.

Charles Barkley and the producers of Inside The NBA caught wind of Durant’s Tweet during half-time of the Pelicans-Suns game. Barkley didn’t have a response but quipped that KD had too much time on his hands to respond, and joked that Durant should probably be attending the Brooklyn Nets’ parade for winning the ‘play-in championship’, poking fun at the Nets’ only success in the postseason this year.

From the looks of things, this Durant-Barkley saga is far from over.
