Michael Jordan turned 59 a couple of days ago, and everybody around the league wanted to send a message to the Chicago Bulls legend. He was spotted partying in New York before the special day, with fans making jokes about a surprising Scottie Pippen appearance at the event.

Meanwhile, the rest of the league showered Jordan in praise, remembering his career and how influential he was for the league during the 80s and 90s. He collected six championships from 1991 through 1998, becoming the greatest player of all time in the process.

Even though some people don’t think he deserves that honor, many others believe he’s the rightful GOAT. Kevin Durant, for example, is one of those who are convinced there’s no one greater than the Chicago Bulls legend. On the day of MJ’s birthday, KD took to Instagram to send a short but clear message to His Airness.

“Happy birthday to the greatest. Thanks for the blueprint,” he wrote on an Instagram story.

This is not the first time we’ve seen KD calling Jordan the GOAT. In August 2020, the player had a big reaction when somebody called LeBron James the GOAT. It’s not a secret that KD has a big admiration for Mike and no matter what, he’ll always side with Jordan in these discussions.

Durant is still sidelined after picking another injury. He hasn’t played a game since January 15 and the Nets don’t know where he will return to action. He’s having a terrific season, becoming the captain of Team Durant for the upcoming All-Star Game after receiving millions of votes for the big game.

KD is ready to win it all with the Nets and increase his legend. He won’t reach the same level as Michael Jordan, but he can finish his career as a top 10 player of all time.
