LeBron James is one of the greatest players of all time. But that hasn’t stopped critics from pointing out menial flaws in his game. James has been consistently playing in the NBA for 18 years now and has racked up an impressive list of accomplishments. Despite this incredible legacy he has created for himself, James is consistently discredited by fans and analysts alike for the mistakes he has made in his career.
While his ability to shoot the ball may not be on the level of other superstars like Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, it is still better than most players in the NBA. Furthermore, James regularly puts in the work throughout the year to make sure that he can improve his game.
NBA players are subject to criticism from multiple sources. Whether it be fans, analysts, or players themselves. But LeBron James got criticized by an unlikely source: Dion Waiters’ son. During the 2020 NBA season, Dion Waiters joined the Los Angeles Lakers to compete in the NBA Bubble in Orlando.
During one of the practice sessions, James was engaging with the children of the players, who had been allowed in after a long time. James was playing around with Waiters’ son, shooting the ball and showing off his moves. When James missed one of his shots, he told Waiters’ son that he missed the shot on purpose so he would think he is human. Waiters' son responded by trolling LeBron and joking around with 'The King'.
“I missed that on purpose so you’d think I’m human”
It was a truly heartwarming interaction between James and Dion’s son. James takes the time out to greet children and interact with them as much as possible. As a family man, James understands what even the tiniest interaction from a player of his legacy can do for these children. But Dion’s son’s response will be remembered as one of the off-the-court highlights from the 2020 NBA Bubble.
