Luka Doncic is one of the most talented offensive players in the NBA today. Doncic is extremely skilled and can score from any part of the court. Doncic can be incredibly crafty and has immense amounts of confidence. But one New Orleans Pelicans fan chose to trash talk Doncic, but he wasn’t willing to hear it from him.

During the Dallas Mavericks’ game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Luka Doncic drove the ball to the basket. After making the shot, Doncic looked down the court and had words for a fan sitting courtside, and he looked quite irritated when telling him off from across the court.

After the game, Luka Doncic was asked about the verbal altercation with the fan sitting courtside by a reporter during his post-game press conference. Doncic revealed that the fan had been talking trash to him the entire game and had been very disrespectful to him throughout the game, and so he had enough and decided to respond to him.

"He was very disrespectful since the start of the game. That's why I decided to talk back." – Luka Doncic on his interaction with a fan sitting courtside

“He was very disrespectful since the start of the game. That’s why I decided to talk back.”

Doncic was well within his rights to respond to the fan, especially if he was being disrespectful. NBA fans recently have started to take a lot of liberties with players, saying whatever disrespectful thing they want to them, just because they sit close to the court. The fan was lucky not to be ejected, as a lot of fans this season have been kicked out at the request of players on the court.

We have had multiple fan incidents this season. LeBron James got two fans ejected from a game for reportedly saying things about his son. Whereas Carmelo Anthony did the same to a fan. Clearly, players will take action if they feel that the fans at the arena are crossing a certain line. But Doncic felt his clap back at the fan was enough to shut him down.
