The Dallas Mavericks went to the 2022 NBA Western Conference Finals. The team was led by none other than the phenomenal Luka Doncic to that stage. Unfortunately, their opponents were the eventual champions, the Golden State Warriors. It was quite obvious that the level of skill between the two teams was very wide.

Regardless, the Mavericks would be happy to at least make some progress in their quest to win an NBA Championship. Although the previous season wasn’t a failure, it can’t be regarded as a success either.

It is evident that the Mavericks need to find some help for their young superstar. Luka has been left alone for far too long now. They tried to make it work with a partnership between Luka and Kristaps Porzingis. Unfortunately, that didn’t work well either.

To make things worse, the Mavs also lost their talented star, Jalen Brunson, to the New York Knicks. The last nail in the coffin served as Goran Dragic’s signing with the Chicago Bulls.

The Mavs had him on their radar for a long time, but that was the extent of it. They didn’t really pursue him, and the 36-year-old decided to become a Bull instead. Following the news, the fanbase of the Mavericks was pretty upset.

They lashed out at the owner of the franchise, Mark Cuban, calling him all sorts of things. But instead of replying to the fans one by one, Cuban simply liked the tweets of these fans. Thus, making them even angrier.

To be honest, that’s one way to clap back at your haters. Cuban could have taken a page out of Kevin Durant’s playbook and responded to fans directly. But he took it the other way, which will only increase fans’ fury.

Anyway, Cuban deserves at least some of the criticism headed towards him. He needs to pair Luka Doncic with another All-Star caliber player. Otherwise, it feels like the Mavs are all set to waste Doncic’s prime years, just like they did with Dirk Nowitzki.
