Michael Jordan Hilariously Trolled Muggsy Bogues By Raising His Hand So Bogues Couldn’t High Five Him

Muggsy Bogues’ story is one of the more inspirational ones in the history of the NBA. Despite standing at just 5’3”, Bogues managed to carve out a fine career in the league, primarily with the Charlotte Hornets. He was by no means just another body out there, as Bogues had a stretch from 1989 to 1995 where he failed to rank in the top 4 in the league for assists just once.

He made a mockery of defenses with his speed as well as his quickness and was a fan favorite during his career. He was very relatable to the average human being, as he gave people hope that maybe they too could play in the NBA despite their short stature. While fans loved him, players around the league respected him, but there was a certain someone who always loved to mess with Bogues.

Michael Jordan certainly wasn’t someone who was out there on the court to pay respect to his opponents, and there was nothing he loved more than trying to mess with his competition. Bogues’ inspirational story didn’t stop MJ from trolling him by raising his hand when they met, which meant Bogues wasn’t able to High-five him.

It was all fun and games between the two, and Jordan has kept at it even after the two of them retired, as Bogues once recounted.

“MJ always liked to f**k with me. Even till this day, he’ll put his hand up high for me to give him a hi-five and I’ll put my hand down low, you come down to give me a lo-five… There was stuff about he called me a midget which is not true. He always call me short lil fella or lil ass.”

That is classic Jordan right there to still keep doing it, but there is no malicious intent, which is why Bogues isn’t too bothered by it either. Jordan has probably said and done a lot worse to a lot of players over the years, as he is one of the best trash talkers the game has seen.

Retirement clearly hasn’t led to Jordan easing on his trash talk, and JR Smith found that out when he was playing against MJ on the golf course. No one is safe no matter what the setting is, but it is all good when it’s just light-hearted, as we see here.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
