Michael Jordan is one of the most recognizable personalities in the world, and given his legacy as a professional athlete, the life of a champion is often reflected in their lifestyle. While it would be a challenge to enjoy the same success Jordan did during his career, it is still possible to live like the 6x NBA champion by renting out his former mansion.

Jordan’s $29 million mansion has been one of the most-discussed luxury properties available on the market in Chicago. Initially put up on the market for purchase in 2012, the mansion went unsold for a long time. This led the estate’s price to be slashed dramatically, coming down to $14.855 million in 2015

Unfortunately, the Highland Park mansion remained unsold until 2024, when it was finally purchased by Nebraska native John Cooper, who dished out $9.5 million to finalize the sale of the property.

Considering how recently the sale was finalized, it is quite interesting to see that the mansion is already available on Airbnb to rent. The 56,000-square-foot property still features all the exciting elements of Jordan’s legacy. From the branded gates and the indoor basketball court to the nine bedrooms and other bespoke areas, the property is truly impressive.

Fans now have a chance to experience the lifestyle of the Bulls legend, albeit at a premium price. As per reports, the rates for the Airbnb property fluctuate on a nightly basis as well as seasonal demand. During the non-peak season, the mansion is available at $15,000 a night. Meanwhile, peak-season rates remain at $17,000.

For those looking to stay longer, the estate can also be booked for 21 days, though the cost climbs to a staggering $330,000.

Regardless, this seems like an interesting opportunity for the new owner, who never intended to use the house as a primary residence. Given how deeply the home reflects Jordan’s personal taste, it’s understandable why it may be difficult for others to settle in comfortably.

For Jordan, this has virtually no impact on his image or portfolio. After completing the sale of the house, the NBA legend effectively wiped his hands clean of the property and the additional cost of maintaining it.

Having purchased the land in 1991 and moved into the completed home in 1994, Jordan certainly created countless memories in that mansion. It served as a physical symbol of the dynasty he led during that era.

Now, with his legacy firmly etched in NBA history and expanded through his global brand empire, Jordan’s former home offers fans a tangible glimpse into the life of basketball royalty.
