Zion Williamson is one of the best young players in the league, and he has been an absolutely dominant power forward thus far in his young career. Though he was out for the entirety of the 2021-22 season due to a foot injury, Zion Williamson has been elite this year, averaging 25.0 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 4.2 APG.

There is no doubt that Zion Williamson’s production has been insane thus far, and it has resulted in wins as well. The New Orleans Pelicans are the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference with an 18-8 record.

Generally, the best players on top teams generally garner some attention from the media in terms of the MVP conversation. Zion Williamson has definitely been playing at that level as of late, and recently, fans debated whether Zion Williamson should be in MVP talks.

The best player in the west and it’s not even close

If this man can stay healthy and develop a middy bro will be one of the greats

If y’all try to force the MVP on anyone else besides Tatum we going to have a problem

he owns the fake tough suns

Been cooking lately

Best PF in the league

Love Zion, but not this year, he’s balling but not on the level of Tatum, Luka and Giannis

Grass is green

They put Tatum in the convo for being 1st in east sooooo

he’s easily top 5 i just couldn’t actually see him winning

Yes he’s dominating every game

Should be in the convo

Yes he’s been unstoppable

It remains to be seen if Zion Williamson does end up winning the MVP award in the future. It definitely seems as though fans think he should be in the conversation, and his production suggests the same thing.

It was previously revealed that Zion Williamson’s goal for this season was to win the MVP award, and we’ll see if he manages to achieve his objective. Thus far, he has been doing a fantastic job of putting his name out there with his play.

CJ McCollum Thinks Zion Williamson Is Playing Like An MVP

There is no doubt that Zion Williamson is playing at a high level, and the fans aren’t the only ones who believe that he should be in the MVP conversation. Previously, CJ McCollum threw Zion Williamson’s name into the MVP talks.

“He was a plus 30 in a close game, so that tells you how dominant he was offensively, defensively. Pushing tempo, getting to the free throw line. He gets us in the bonus early, changes the game for everybody. Makes the game easier in terms of pushing tempo. Always putting pressure on the basket and always drawing multiple defenders… He’s delivering and playing like an MVP.”

The New Orleans Pelicans have been a pleasant surprise this year, and most people didn’t think that they could be the No. 1 seed. However, it is clear that they have done well, with Zion Williamson leading the way and playing at an MVP level.

Hopefully, we see Zion Williamson’s dominance continue. He received a lot of criticism from fans while he was injured, and perhaps this is the year he finally shuts all the haters up.
