The Los Angeles Lakers have had two fun days of free agency, filling their roster spots with veterans that will help LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis compete for the championship next year.
Great as some of them are, father time catches up with all of us, and these athletes won’t be the exception. That’s why it’s not a surprise that people make fun of the Lakers for putting together all this experience ahead of the upcoming season.
Right now, the Lakers have only four players under the age of 30, Anthony Davis, Kendrick Nunn, Malik Monk, and Talen Horton-Tucker. As for the rest, they’re all past their 30s.
Ages for next year's Lakers:
Melo: 37
Bron: 36
Gasol: 36
Ariza: 36
Dwight: 35
Ellington: 33
Bazemore: 32
Russ: 32
AD: 28
Nunn: 26
Monk: 23

Of course, this can become a problem for the Lakers along the way. One fan reacted to this, trolling the purple and gold and their ‘retirement home.’
“Lakers managed to build an entire retirement home in only 3 hours. Very impressive.”

This was enough for the rest of the community to start a big debate. While some agreed that the Lakers made some questionable moves, others defended the team, saying they are in an excellent position to win the championship next year.

The Lakers did add some good players in the first two days of free agency. Carmelo Anthony will finally play with LeBron James. Dwight Howard will have a third tenure with the franchise. Russell Westbrook lands in a team with serious chances to win the championship and more.
Things look good for the Lakers right now, but we still need to wait and see if they’re capable of winning it all next year.
