Nikola Jokic has become one of the best players in the NBA since he was drafted in 2015. The Denver Nuggets superstar might not be the flashiest of all, but he’s definitely a great player and one of the faces of the competition right now.

After winning back-to-back MVP awards, the Serbian center is poised to keep making history and lead his franchise to win the NBA championship next year. He has been on a tear for the past two seasons and recently made history again, receiving a trophy that many stars will fight to get at the end of the regular season.

Following a demolishing win over the Washington Wizards, 141-128, Nikola Jokic was given the new NBA MVP trophy. Head coach Michael Malone was in charge of giving the longed-for prize to Jokic in the locker room while everybody clapped and cheered for the Serbian.

Nikola Jokic Becomes The First Recipient Of The Brand-New Michael Jordan MVP Trophy

Jokic is the most recent MVP in the NBA, and this award represents that honor. The league recently revamped all major trophies, naming the MVP one after the greatest player of all time, Michael Jordan. This is another big achievement for Jokic, who keeps focused on the biggest prize.

The Joker keeps thriving this season, and proof of that is his MVP consideration. He’s going toe-to-toe with big stars like Jayson Tatum and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Nuggets keep playing at the highest level. He’ll probably be an All-NBA player this season, and the Nuggets are considered a threat in the West.

Just like Jokic, his team isn’t making a lot of noise, which could be good for them. Jamal Murray is back, Michael Porter Jr. is trying to help the other two stars, and the Nuggets are ready to show that they aren’t much more than Jokic. The defending MVP might not win the award again, but he has a big chance to reach the promised land.
