Draymond Green recently made headlines due to his comments on the ongoing GOAT debate, obviously picking LeBron James, who went from being his archrival to one of his best friends in the league.

Green isn’t shy when sharing his opinion on anything and when it comes to James’ greatness, he simply wouldn’t stop. A couple of days ago, the 4x NBA champion made some big claims when talking with former teammate Juan Toscano-Anderson and actor Rome Flynn, Dray showered LeBron James with praise.

Draymond said that as soon as his second season in the league, LeBron became the best player in the association, and he stayed like that up until now. Of course, this statement raised a lot of eyebrows around the league, just like his top 5 players of all time did, where Michael Jordan ranks behind LeBron.

Shaquille O’Neal Reveals His Two Picks For The GOAT Title

A lot of people reacted to these remarks, and Shaquille O’Neal was one of them. The Big Diesel respectfully disagreed with Green, saying that Dray’s entitled to his opinion, and whether or not people like it, he can say it no matter what. Still, Shaq mentioned his pick for the GOAT title, going with two players instead of one, and mentioning somebody that hardly ever gets included in these conversations.

“I like Draymond, that’s his opinion,” said the former seven-foot center. “I like people when they have opinions in this world. You know, the problem we have is when some certain person has an opinion and you don’t like it.”

“I’m not going to go off,” said the Diesel. “That’s his opinion. My guy is Dr. J (Julius Erving) slash Mike. That’s my guy.”

It’s rare to see Dr. J mentioned in the same breath as the greatest player of all time, but this is a subjective topic. Just like Draymond thinks this title belongs to LeBron, Shaq gives it to Jordan or Erving. While MJ dominated the NBA in every way he wanted, Erving struggled to win championships, only getting one with the Philadelphia 76ers.

They both left a huge mark on the game, and Jordan once admitted that he looked up to Dr. J while growing up, so if the greatest of all time was inspired by you, then you must have been a pretty huge deal.
