Shaquille O’Neal Selected The Best Players Of The 2000s

Shaquille O’Neal has never been afraid of predicting how hypothetical scenarios would go down. He got involved in a social media war with Scottie Pippen for this exact thing, but that’s nothing new for the Big Diesel.

Shaq was actually encouraged to do these things, revealing the best players of the 2000s on NBA TV’s ‘Open Court.’ A couple of years ago, the panel debated about the best players in the 2000s decade, and Shaq came up with a very good starting five (38:50).

No. 5 I’ll put Dr. O’Neal. No. 2 I gotta go with the Kobester. LeBron at the 3. At 4, you gotta go with Mr. Duncan.

He hesitated a little bit with the point guard position. In the end, Shaq picked a former NBA Finals rival due to his competitiveness and quality on the court.

I gotta go with A.I. (Allen Iverson) because he was fearless. My thing was, every little guy that came in there, I’m gonna touch him up. He was the only, besides Gary that kept coming back.

This is an excellent team, to be honest. Shaq isn’t bad at putting together hypothetical squads. This one would have been a nightmare for the rest of the league.

As usual, everybody will try to assemble a team to beat this one, creating kickstarting heated debates around the league. Still, what other starting five in the 2000s would have taken this team down? That’s a very good question.
