The most talked-about situation in the league right now is Kevin Durant's trade request to the Nets. It has sent the NBA into chaos as teams try to figure out if they can benefit from Brooklyn blowing up their team. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are both reportedly on the market, and will likely start the season as a part of different franchises depending on if the Nets can find the right deals for them.
While this has raised many questions about what Brooklyn's future looks like, it has also caused a lot of damage to Durant and Irving's already tenuous image among NBA fans and the media. KD beefed with Charles Barkley for a while over Barkley's comments, suggesting that he is not a 'bus driver', and even Shaquille O'Neal had gotten involved.
And now, with all the turmoil surrounding Durant and many people criticizing his decision to try and leave for a team that is already contending, Shaq has taken the opportunity to take a shot at the All-Star. He shared a take on his story that said KD drove the bus straight off a cliff.
"Charles Barkley has been proven right and his 'bus driver' analogy turned out to be perfect. KD couldn't handle being the focal point of a franchise and drove the bus right off the cliff."
Durant is never shy about responding whenever someone calls him out on social media. He's even responded to Shaq before. So it's not unlikely that the former Lakers superstar will receive some sort of retort from Durant. However, as the saga continues to unfold, it is more and more difficult to defend KD, especially if he goes to a top-seeded team like the Suns or the Heat, where there are already established superstars and leaders on the roster.
