Jamal Murray is one of the best guards in the league when healthy. He was out with an ACL injury during the 2021-22 season, but when he’s on the court, Murray is known for playing an electric scoring style that combines elite shot creation and crafty finishing around the rim. During the 2020-21 season, Murray averaged 21.8 PPG, 4.0 RPG, and 4.8 APG.

There are many that are excited to see Jamal Murray back on the court for the Denver Nuggets during this upcoming season. They are expected to be contenders this season, with him and Michael Porter Jr. returning to help Nikola Jokic, and we’ll see if the team is able to develop cohesiveness and become a squad that can win a championship.

Jamal Murray Is Trying A New Training Routine With Alexander Volkanovski

There’s no doubt that Jamal Murray is likely hard at work to ensure that he returns and plays at a high level. It seems as though he decided to try his hand at a new form of training.

Recently, a video surfaced of Jamal Murray training with UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, and the two seemingly tried their hands at training routines for one another’s sports. We see Murray try his hand at punching a boxing bag while Volkanovski tries to hit some free throws on a basketball court.

There is no doubt that partaking in other athletic activities aside from basketball may actually help NBA players improve. In fact, DPOY Rudy Gobert was spotted doing some boxing as part of his offseason routine earlier in the summer.

It is quite likely that we will see Jamal Murray have a productive year next season. Though it may take some time for Murray to get used to the pace of the NBA again, it is quite likely that he will recover well from his injury and go back to being an elite scorer. We have seen multiple players such as Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson recover from devastating injuries over the last few years with the help of modern medicine and elite training regimens, and hopefully, that ends up being the case for Jamal Murray as well.

The Denver Nuggets were eliminated in the first round this year, and the whole team is probably eager to change that. Perhaps we’ll see them make a deeper run next year, and the talent on the squad certainly suggests that a Finals appearance is not out of the question.
