With the next-generation consoles less than a month away from release, the newest era of NBA 2K is about to begin.

Despite some controversy surrounding the release, excitement is growing around the community, especially as players reacted to their updated ratings.

Here is the most recent update of star ratings:

LeBron James has the highest score with 98, but Damian Lillard is tied for 5th at 95 with Kevin Durant and Steph Curry. The bubble MVP and 2K cover athlete had his best season ever in 2019-20, posting 30 points, 8 assists, and 4.3 rebounds on 46.3% shooting.

As for Trae Young, Ja Morant, and Jamal Murray, they are all relatively young, and 2K is usually conservative when it comes to handing out a 90+overall rating for guys with only a few years of experience under their belt. Nevertheless, they will look to prove they are worthy of the milestone next season, as they continue to grow and hone their game.

Be on the lookout for more names to come, as we still don’t have rankings for Kawhi, Jokic, and Westbrook.

More than anything, though, the hope is that this game will be worthy of all the hype. We’ll just have to wait and find out.
