NBA Rumors: The Phoenix Suns Could Pursue Andre Drummond

2 Min Read

Andre Drummond has been linked with many teams in recent memory, including a lot of contenders. Andre Drummond is a former All-Star who can rebound the ball at a high level, as well as providing an athletic presence at the rim. There have been many rumors about him joining one team or another team, but so far, he is still on the Cavaliers.

The Phoenix Suns have been linked with Andre Drummond lately. Bleacher Report posted an article that featured opinions from some NBA executives. It is stated within the article that Andre Drummond could be a target for the Suns due to the fact that they lack a dominant big man.

Phoenix has been one of the NBA’s most surprising teams, but league executives believe the Suns are a big man away from being a legit threat in the West.

That’s why they anticipate the Suns will make a run at Cleveland’s Andre Drummond.

The Cavs left no doubt about Drummond’s availability when they shut him down in mid-February until a trade or buyout can be agreed upon. Drummond’s double-double potential is a no-brainer as to why many teams covet him. But it is his defensive presence and its impact on the team as a whole that appeal to the Suns.

The Phoenix Suns already have a talented young center in Deandre Ayton. However, Andre Drummond would still be a good acquisition. In the era of the superteam, the more talent on the team, the better. Drummond’s defensive value is key: defense wins championships. The Phoenix Suns may not be the best basketball fit for Drummond, but it is certainly an intriguing one.
