NBA Rumors: Celtics Are In the Hunt For Clint Capela

1 Min Read

With the NBA trade deadline just days away, rumors and whispers about some of the league’s best players are flying around the league like fireworks on the fourth of July.

Among the most talked-about names on the market this year is Houston’s Clint Capela, who appears to be on the block.

The Rockets’ subpar performance is no doubt the reason for their sudden participation in the deadline this season. Their goal seems to be to trade Capela for wing scorers/defenders.

With Gordon Hayward and Jaylen Brown, Boston certainly has players that fit the bill for them. The question is, will they be willing to give either of them up for as traditional, cap-typing big man?

Averaging 13.9 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game on 62% shooting, Capela provides a stable, dominant, and consistent presence around the rim. He’s a rebounder, shot-blocker, and insider scorer.

And though his offensive abilities are largely limited, he’d be a great fit with the Celtics, surrounded by shooters and playmakers who work on the outside.

It’ll be interesting to see how the situation plays out in the days to come.
