NBA Rumors: Celtics Could Land Bradley Beal Without Trading Jaylen Brown

2 Min Read

Bradley Beal has been linked with the Boston Celtics for quite some time now. Ever since 2019, the Green have been part of the same sentence as Beal, and this offseason could present a big chance for them to link up finally.

After Beal made some comments about playing with Jayson Tatum on Team USA, Celtics’ fans went crazy, and everybody started looking for ways to pair Beal and JT

While most fans and analysts believe they should give Jaylen Brown in exchange for another player like Beal or even Damian Lillard. But, according to Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports, the C’s could get Beal without compromising Brown, creating a Big 3 in Boston.

The Celtics would instead offer packages that offer some combination of draft capital, young talent, and future financial flexibility. For example, Boston could build a package starting with something like three future first-round picks, some pick swaps, Al Horford (and his partially guaranteed 2022-23 salary), and Aaron Nesmith.

Depending on how Boston’s current offseason plays out, there could be other iterations like bundling picks, a re-signed Evan Fournier, and an extended Marcus Smart to make salaries match. The point here: Boston will have multiple ways to construct a deal.

This would be an ideal scenario for the Celtics. They didn’t have the best 2020/21 season, and adding a player like Beal brings many benefits for them. They are making big changes this offseason, and this could be the biggest move of the summer if they pull it off.
