Draymond Green On Kevin Durant Joining The USA Dream Team: “He Just Loves Hoopin’, That’s What He Lives For.”

2 Min Read

Draymond Green has the perfect description for Kevin Durant. The former teammates are set to go to Tokyo and win the gold medal in the 2021 Olympic Games.

KD never hesitated to represent Team USA in the upcoming Summer Olympics. After an early exit in the NBA playoffs, the 2x NBA champion focused on his next challenge. He’s the leader of the team, and everybody expected him to take that role as soon as he committed to the squad.

Green even says that it was harder to see him skipping the tournament rather than joining the squad. The Brooklyn Nets superstar couldn’t make a deep playoff run, and he’s ready to keep playing and win something this year.

“I had no doubt in my mind that he was playing. I’m sure everyone tried to talk him out of it. Coming off an Achilles injury, all of the minutes played in the playoffs, had some injuries throughout the playoffs. What I knew, in knowing Kevin, you were going to talk him out of playing as opposed to talking him into playing. He just love hoopin’, that’s what he lives for,” Draymond said, per Joe Vardon and Alex Schiffer of The Athletic.

This is similar to what Matt Sullivan recently said. KD doesn’t do much besides playing basketball, so it would’ve been crazy to see him not playing in Tokyo. Team USA has a very good team despite missing Stephen Curry and LeBron James. They’re ready to bounce back after a bad tournament in the 2019 FIBA World Cup, and KD will try to lead them to the promised land.
