NBA Rumors: Brooklyn Nets Remain Open To Trading Kyrie Irving

The Kyrie Irving saga continues in Brooklyn, as the point guard remains inactive due to his refusal to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Over the past couple of months, the 2016 NBA champion expressed he won’t take the shot, but making it clear he won’t lose money over this situation.

Kyrie is yet to play a single minute with the Nets this season, as the team didn’t allow him to be a part-time player. He’s been banned from team activities for a while now, opening the door for rumors suggesting he could be shipped away soon.

Last month, it was reported that the Nets were getting calls from other teams asking about Kyrie’s availability in a potential trade. At first, they didn’t entertain those ideas, but now that could change. According to NBA insider Ian Begley of SNY, the Nets are open to trade talks regarding Irving.

To that end, it’s worth noting that, as of late last month, Brooklyn remained open to talking trades involving Irving, per SNY sources. ESPN reported in late October that the Nets were taking calls on potential Irving trades, but not making them. In the weeks following that report, several teams said Brooklyn has continued to take that approach with the All-Star guard.

While some believed Kyrie’s personality would play against him in a possible trade, it looks like teams are still interested in acquiring his services. It’s unclear which squads are looking to add him, but given his talent and everything he brings to the table, it’s not hard to see why he is still drawing attention around the league.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets remain 1st in the Eastern Conference with a 15-6 record. James Harden and Kevin Durant are still trying to figure things out to take their game to the next level and become the championship contenders the fans hope to see.
