The Dallas Mavericks are the talk of the town on Wednesday after their unreal win over the New York Knicks on Tuesday night. The team has won four games on the bounce, and they finally look like they can put some wins together and move toward the top of the Western Conference. But there is still something missing for the Mavericks.

Luka Doncic is proving once against this season that he is on a level himself as one of the best in the league. His dominant performance against the New York Knicks and his generally unbelievable 3-game run are both examples of his greatness. But the roster around him is still not at the level it needs to be for them to truly contend for a championship. And more than anything, Luka needs another star.

This is where Zach LaVine comes into the picture. LaVine has been linked with the Mavericks in the past. He is an explosive scorer and a certified star. And with the Chicago Bulls slumping and considered prime candidates for blowing the team up, LaVine could be gettable for the Mavs. And it seems their brain trust is already thinking about it.

NBA Insider Says Zach LaVine Is Like By Prominent Members Within The Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks don’t have too many assets or good contracts, so they have to be careful about swinging big if they decide to do so. But while there are a lot of things to be considered, Tim MacMahon explained on The Lowe Post podcast that Zach LaVine is someone important members of the organization are fans of.

“I just know that there are fans of him that hold prominent positions within the Mavericks,” ESPN’s Tim MacMahon said on the Lowe Post podcast. “Again, I’m not sitting here and telling you there’s some great consensus. I think there’s enough fans of him where I wouldn’t totally rule it out.”

While LaVine’s game is not without its flaws, if the Mavericks could pull this off, he would instantly become the second-best player on the team. There is some concern about his injury history, but LaVine has proved beyond doubt that he is a star in the NBA.

Ultimately, what the Mavericks decide to do is hard to tell, but they do have some pressure on them to make a move. Luka Doncic has established himself as a perennial MVP candidate, and if they want to keep him around and keep him happy, swinging for a star like LaVine might just be on the agenda.
