The Golden State Warriors are a team that has an established veteran core featuring Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. They have won four championships as a trio, and they have a shot at winning it all once again this year.

Many fans and analysts have suggested that the Warriors are a team that needs to make a win-now move. However, some reports have indicated that the Warriors aren’t actively trying to trade their young players.

With that being said, it is quite possible that they will change their mind in the future. A recent report from Sean Deveney of Heavy revealed that Stephen Curry could potentially “force a rethink” from the team on their stance.

Then there are, of course, the Warriors, who have signaled they won’t be very active at the deadline—though many around the league believe that will change. The Warriors need help up front, but there is some panic within the organization about the fact that the team’s bench has just not come together this year. Ownership remains reluctant to break up the young trio of James Wiseman, Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga, but some strong internal voices could force a rethink on that.

Who? Easy: “Steph Curry,” the executive said. “If he says to ownership, ‘You’ve got to get some help for right now, not for down the road,’ then that will go a long way. There’s only a few players you absolutely have to listen to, and Steph is one. Beasley would be a good bench piece for them if they wanted to trade off one of the young guys.”

It is imperative for the Warriors to try and maximize Stephen Curry while he is dominating, and hopefully, we see them make a win-now move in the future. Trading their young prospects will be best both for the franchise and for the players, and perhaps they’ll make a move ahead of the trade deadline.

The Warriors Could Target Alex Caruso

Even though they have not made a trade as of right now, the Warriors are clearly considering their options on the trade market. A previous report revealed that the Warriors are prepared to make an offer for Alex Caruso.

Multiple teams are prepared to make offers for Alex Caruso, per @SeanDeveney

“Teams like Phoenix or Miami, both would be in a position to make a trade like that. Even the Warriors, they could send out a young guy”

There is no doubt Alex Caruso could help the Golden State Warriors, particularly on the defensive end. He is an experienced championship-winning veteran, and the Warriors definitely need more players that can contribute immediately.

It remains to be seen what the Warriors will do in the future. There is still a possibility that they end up keeping their prospects, but it is clear that they need to trade in some of their youth for experience.
