Blockbuster Trade Idea: Los Angeles Clippers Can Create A Big 4 With Derrick Rose And Andre Drummond

The Los Angeles Clippers are on the verge of a great season. They added Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to their ranks. However, it still feels like they need something extra to get past the best teams in the playoffs.

Also, there have been several rumors about dysfunction in the team’s locker room, so perhaps they’d be better off moving some pieces in return for others that could fit better with their stars.

It’s clear that the Clippers must upgrade the center spot. Ivica Zubac can’t keep up with physical big men, and Montrezl Harrell gives up a lot of height and isn’t precisely an elite defender in the post.

Also, they could use another ball-handler that could take some pressure off of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. A guy that could run the offense and be a primary playmaker, something that Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams and Landry Shame are not.

So, with that in mind, we’re thinking about a blockbuster trade idea that could not only solve their issues but also help out the Detroit Pistons kickstart their longly overdue rebuilding process.

In this blockbuster trade idea, the Pistons would send Derrick Rose and Andre Drummond to the Clippers in return for Jerome Robinson, Patrick Beverley, Moe Harkless and Montrezl Harrell.

But why on earth would the Pistons do that? you may ask. Well, they would be getting an intriguing and interesting prospect in Robinson, who’s not much of a part of Doc Rivers’ rotation right now.

They would also land a top-tier backcourt defender in Patrick Beverley, who could easily coexist next to Reggie Jackson and hide his defensive flaws. Also, he’s a vocal leader for their locker room that can mentor their younger players. Worst case scenario, he’s another trade asset.

Montrezl Harrell is going to become a free agent at the end of the season, and they would be missing a big man. It’s a no-brainer for both parties here. They pay him big money, he stays and leads their rebuild. If not, they get his salary off the books.

And that takes us to Moe Harkless, who can’t bring much to the table right now, but whose contract is a perfect trade asset as he’ll also help them clear the salary cap.

The Los Angeles Clippers will have one of the strongest, most physical starting fives in the world with Rose and Drummond joining George, Leonard and Lou Williams.

Moreover, this team would become even more of a defensive juggernaut that could clamp even the best big threes in the world, let alone LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Derrick Rose is playing like an All-Star again with per 36 averages of 25.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in 49% from the floor.

He’s also been healthy and most importantly, trading for him would take him away from the Los Angeles Lakers, who’re reportedly interested in acquiring his services.

Andre Drummond, on the other hand, is reportedly available in trade talks and averaging 17.3 points, a league-leading 15.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game on 53% shooting. It doesn’t get better than that when you’re looking for a strong presence in the paint.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t see many teams being able to get past them in defense, and they have also some of the smoothest scorers in the game. This is definitely a Championship team.
